1.3. Acceptance: By registering an account or using the Gettask Platform, you consent to the processing of your Personal Information as described in this Policy.
We collect information necessary for the functioning of our two-sided marketplace, including:
2.1. Registration Information: Name, Email, Phone Number, Password (hashed), and Geographic Region.
2.2. Verification and Compliance Data (Performers):
2.3. Task and Performance Data: Task descriptions, Final Cost, Task Status (Open, In Progress, Completed, Cancelled). Reviews and Ratings received from Requesters.
2.4. Financial and Transaction Data (Performers): Your internal Balance amount and records of Commission deductions (3% of Final Cost) and Top-Up history.
We process your Personal Information for the following primary purposes:
3.1. Service Provision: To facilitate matching Requesters with suitable Performers, manage Task flow, and enable User-to-User Chat communication.
3.2. Verification and Safety: To verify the identity of Performers (L2/L3) and maintain a safe and trustworthy environment on Gettask.
3.3. Financial Logic and Reputation: To execute the Commission deduction (3% of Final Cost) and control the publication of Performance Reviews and Ratings.
3.4. Communication: To send transactional emails (e.g., Task updates, Commission Alerts (Template 7.1), Verification status).
3.5. Analytics and Improvement: To monitor Platform usage, track service demand, and improve our services.
We only share your Personal Information where necessary to provide the service or comply with the law:
4.1. User-to-User Sharing: When a Task is suggested or applied for, we share the Requester's name and Task details with the Performer/Candidate, and the Performer's public profile (Name, Rating, Bio) with the Requester.
4.2. Public Visibility: Performer's Name, Region, Bio, and Published Reviews/Ratings are publicly visible.
4.3. Legal Compliance: We may disclose Personal Information to law enforcement or regulatory authorities if required by South African law (e.g., POPIA or FICA regulations).
As a User in South Africa, you have the following rights regarding your Personal Information:
5.1. Right to Access: The right to request a copy of the Personal Information we hold about you.
5.2. Right to Correction: The right to request the correction of any inaccurate or incomplete Personal Information.
5.3. Right to Objection: The right to object to the processing of your Personal Information, subject to certain legal grounds.
5.4. Right to Deletion (Erasure): The right to request the deletion of your Personal Information, subject to our legal obligations to retain records (e.g., financial data retention laws).
6.1. Security Measures: We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, loss, or destruction.
6.2. Retention: We retain your Personal Information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy, or as required by South African law (e.g., records related to the Final Cost and Commission may be retained for 5 years).
